This is a rear differential for an AWD vehicle. It most likely belongs to a 2007-2011 Honda CR-V. The red plugs cover the holes that the output shafts go into.

I'd Like to Know:

I would really like some information about this motor part ... What is it? How old it is? Who manufactured it? Etc... Thanks!

Item History: N/A.

Size: It is approximately 18" in length and varies in diameter.

Markings: It has a bar code with R09 :LN134181 above it. Handwritten in blue there is L726R and L726, handwritten in purple there is L721(?). On the metal there is PAM, DPSF, 5D18016, 6D4169 and another that is unfortunately illegible.

Opinions

1)

It's an AUTOMOTIVE DIFFERENTIAL. It mounts in the back of the vehicle. The red plugs cover holes where "halfshafts" go in that transfer power to the rear wheels. It is a SMALLER differential that goes in the back of a vehicle that is normally "front wheel drive". When that vehicle comes in a four-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive version, this differential is added, along with a driveshaft from the front.
