Magnetic resistance brake *1) for "Octane fitness trainer." *2). Probably an original OEM item. "Magnetic resistance brake assembly, used on Octane models: Q35." Several other companies use this, or nearly identical brake. Stairmaster 4100T , E1500 Upright Premier. Many copies from china exist (e.g. from "Chi Hua"). As it is a "non-contact brake type", only the bearings will wear eventually.
