The two round items are bicycle pedals. They are special ones made to work with "cleats", which are little brackets that screw onto the bottom of bike riding shoes. The item on the left is a "deraullieur hanger". It goes on the back of the bike frame near the chain sprockets and the deraullieur screws into it. They are made replaceable because deraullieurs (chain shifters) often snag on things and bend. If the hanger was part of the frame, the frame would be ruined.
