This is a railroad locomotive brake valve handle. Although many different railroad companies used slight variations they are often very similar. I have one that appears identical And I know it is from a Hudson and Manhattan black car. I worked for that railroad for 39 years and have seen many. It Google railroad brake valve handle and you will see many similar handles from older steam locos to locos of the 50s .
