It's a differential carrier for some Hyundai, Mitsubishi and Kia models. It fits 7 different front wheel drive transmissions. The ring gear on yours is installed backwards.

thank you for the opinion, it does look close, but the linked ring gear has 69 teeth, as mine has 57
